The Alcoholic Frolic-er makes the Sultry Seamstress
I have been on a mission to learn to love the complex craziness of Campari. In my search, I have been experimenting with a number of recipes, discarding some and adapting others. For this year's celebration of the birth of our nation, I adopted a previous creation, adding an ingredient here and subtracting another there, to honor the feisty seamstress of our noble flag, Betsy Ross. And I give you:
The Sultry Seamstress
Ingredients:
5+ Blueberries
2 tsp. Brown Sugar
3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
3 oz. Gin
1/4 oz. Campari
Garnish:
Blueberries
White Sugar
Directions:
Muddle the blueberries and brown sugar in a mixing glass. Add lemon juice, gin, Campari, and fill with ice. Shake, shake, and shake it all around. Strain and serve in a martini glass with a white sugared rim, blueberries to garnish and voila! It's your grand ol' Red, White And Blue!

Ooooooooh! So pretty and SO good!
ReplyDeleteThis Yankee Doodle Dandy will enjoy these with Yankee Doodle Joy. Happy birthday, America!
ReplyDelete(PS: I find it particularly appropriate the way you assimilated an extremely Italian liquor into a distinctly American drink. Gogo melting pot!)
