The Alcoholic Frolic-er makes the Caipirinha

A drink with a view.

I am much more a consumer than a crafter of cocktails, so I'm excited to bring you the (first of hopefully many) guest post(s) of my favorite bartender, who shall henceforth be known as the Alcoholic Frolic-er.

Caipirinha

Ingredients:
2 oz Cachaca
1/2 Lime
2 1/2 tsp Sugar to taste

Directions:
Muddle lime and sugar together in whatever glass you have available, preferably a rocks or an old-fashioned, but I have found that champagne and martini glasses work admirably as well.  Just don't break it while you're muddling.  Fill the glass with ice, then Cachaca.  Mix it all up and serve.  Ta-da!

  1. These are really tasty!

Also, how do you pronounce the name of this? It looks so...exotic.

  2. If I could speak Portuguese, I believe I would pronounce it something like kai-pa-REEN-ya. I do not speak Portuguese however, so generally I butcher it pretty badly.
